Material Info

The HP MJF - PA11 material is based 100% on renewable raw materials and is characterized by high toughness as well as impact resistance and formability. It retains its excellent properties over a wide temperature range (> 40°C - 130°C>). In addition, the material does not splinter when force is applied, but tears, which is why it is particularly important in the automotive industry and is often used in vehicle interiors.

Look and feel:
Untreated parts have a matte surface that is roughened to the touch. By post-treatment processes, a smooth, homogeneous surface with a slight gloss can be produced.

Dyed SLS parts

Dyeing

MJF parts can be dyed after printing. Textile dye is used for this and you can choose from 17 dark color shades.

gray 3D printed parts with finish

Vibratory grinding (tumbling)

Vibratory grinding produces homogeneous and smooth surfaces. For this purpose, an even abrasion is generated on the parts in a vibration trough using grinding stones.

Chemical smoothing

During chemical smoothing, the parts are treated with a solvent vapor. In this way, surfaces are achieved that come close to the quality of injection molded components.

The HP MJF Technology

HP's Multi Jet Fusion technology is currently the fastest and most economical in additive manufacturing. The process is powder bed based and enables the production of extremely high quality prototypes, functional and series parts.

Further materials for the MJF process

PA12

The HP-PA12 has a very balanced profile of properties and is suitable for functional parts and prototypes due to its high stability and impact resistance.

PA12 GB

This PA12 filled with 40% glass beads is used especially for components that require high rigidity and dimensional stability, such as housings.
