3D printed product: sensor mounts

3DBAVARIA provides pre-assembled holders for measuring devices of IBA Dosimetry GmbH.

IBA Dosimetry GmbH, headquartered in Schwarzenbruck near Nuremberg, Germany, is the world's leading provider of high-end quality assurance solutions and imaging markers for radiation diagnostics and therapy. The company offers a wide range of innovative instruments and software solutions that enable medical physicists and radiologists to perform necessary quality assurance and calibration procedures.

These instruments include the "MagicMaX Universal", a conformity-approved multimeter for acceptance and constancy testing, which was developed for use in radiography, mammography, computed tomography and dental applications and can be used for different measurements thanks to interchangeable detectors and chambers. For two of these detectors, the XR and the XM multidetector, we produce special holders using additive manufacturing.

These brackets are made up of several individual parts, which are manufactured from PA12 using HP's Multi Jet Fusion process. This allows components with high density and low porosity to be produced, which also have high stability and impact resistance, making it the appropriate choice for this product. A special aspect of this project is that we not only carry out the 3D printing of the individual parts, but also the pre-assembly of various components. Among other things, a suction cup is added to the additively manufactured parts and ball thrust sleeves or a knurled screw are mounted, so that after completion only the detectors have to be inserted into the holder.
